Who is Pink Fluffy Unicorn?

My name is Pink Fluffy Unicorn, and I live in New Jersey. I’ve been dancing since I was three years old, and I play piano and viola. I also like to sing and read whenever I have the chance. I’m a big fan of Gilbert Rocks, too!

I feel that music and arts is very important to the world. It allows you to get creative and imaginative, and it inspires people every day. It lets people express their talents and set a good example for everybody. I like to share my dancing, singing, and music with all my friends.

In my blog, I’ll be writing about how music and arts can make the world a better place. Be sure to check it out, leave feedback, and share with your family and friends! Thanks!

Why practice is important

Have you ever heard the expression, “practice makes perfect”? Since I was 8 years old, I’ve been taking piano lessons. Learning to play piano is really fun, but it’s also really hard work. At the end of each school year my piano teacher would enter all of her students into a National Piano Playing Audition. At the audition, I was required to play four pieces from memory in front of a piano judge. Believe me, it was hard work! In order to prepare for the audition, I had to practice almost every day. The day of the audition, I was really nervous! After I played, I got a lot of wonderful feedback from the judge, and it felt really great to know that all my hard work paid off!
Sometimes in school, you might worry about turning in a project or doing well on a big test. The best way to prepare yourself is to practice a lot! If you have to present a poster in front of your class, you may want to practice reading it in front of your family. Then, your family can tell you what you need to do to improve your speech. The more you practice, the better chance you have of remembering what to say!
Just like my audition, I had to practice my pieces a lot. With lots of practice, I remembered exactly what to play and got lots of positive feedback. Don’t ever doubt yourself as soon as you find out you have to do something that takes practice. Many famous singers, football players, even movie directors need lots of extra practice to accomplish their goals. If you have a dream of doing something when you grow up, be sure to practice it! Practice in front of your family and friends, too! They can give you advice to make you better. Gilbert Rocks had lots of practice and experience with his guitar and his music before he was able to turn it into to something big, too!
Have you ever had to practice for something important? Did your hard work pay off? Leave your stories in the comments below!

PFU's first taste of the arts........please share your story.

When I was little, I knew I wanted to be a dancer when I grew up. I knew at a young age that I would be involved with music and arts for the rest of my life. I used to put on little dance shows for my parents in the basement. At the end, I would bow and they would clap for me. Even today, my parents still support me with each and every step of my life. Without my mom and dad, I wouldn’t be able to dance or play an instrument. The amount of support I receive from my parents is incredible, and I don’t know where I would be without them. My parents are always there to give me a pat on the back, and help my gain my extra effort when I need it the most.

It’s important to thank your parents for everything that they do for you! Your parents are normally the ones who feed you, buy you clothes, take you shopping, buy you video games, pay for your music lessons, piano lessons, guitar lessons, and so much more! If you have a big dream for when you grow up, you always need support and encouragement from your fans. Just like Gilbert Rocks—he gets tonsof support from all of you awesome fans—he is able to create incredible songsfor everyone to hear.

If you have a friend or family member that has a dream, too, make sure you show them that you care. Give them good advice on how to get better, and tell them that they’re doing a great job. Try to put yourself out there by sharing your ideas withyour friends. Before you know it, you could be the next greatest drum player planet Earth has ever seen!

Remember to thank your family and your friends, and help them in return. You never know where you could end up!

Please share your story for everyone to read and how you are using the arts to make the world a better place.
